Target Reference Numbers Explained…

Hey boys and girls,

I gotta tell you, what I’m about to share with you wasn’t easy to pull off in such a short time period. But I’m glad it worked fast.

You see, after my last 3 videos which received a total of 284 comments so far, I received at least 103 questions asking “What is the Target Reference Number.”

So, to give you a really good answer, I wrote an email to Ed Dames and asked him to share with you a full explanation.

Here’s what he sent me back very promptly.

The Reply from Ed Dames:

The Target Reference Numbers or TRNs is a system that assigns random numbers (reference numbers) to a hidden or blind  target or question that you want to provide to another Remote Viewer.

Since Remote Viewing unlocks the true power of the unconscious mind, the Remote Viewer in training doesn’t need to know what the actual RV target or question is; they simply need to follow the protocol using the TRNs as a pointer to the hidden target and allow their unconscious mind take care of the rest.

When a Remote Viewer hits a target using this TRN system, it proves without any doubt that their mind has received the data at an unconscious level. The reason for using TRNs, especially for beginners, is to eliminate the chance of one interjecting personal imagination or analytical overlay into their data which can skew the session results. Think of TRNs as case numbers for a filing system, thus the name, “Target Reference Numbers (TRNs)”.

When a student is achieving  80% accuracy or higher on blind targets using TRNs, then one may choose to forge the TRN system and simply run a target front loaded. Front loading simply means the Remote Viewer knows the question or target before they start their session.

The format of TRNs are from the original military program and are simply random numbers with no meaning other than being a pointer or reference to the blind/hidden target or question or being provided to a viewer.

Isn’t that awesome?

Alright then, do leave other questions you may have, and I’ll see what I can do to help.

I’m so happy I did that survey. Had no idea so many of you weren’t aware about so much. But hey, better late than never.

Gotta run. Leave your questions below.

Talk soon,
Michael

    Hi Michael, I firstly wanna say that what you are doing is great and much appreciated, you’re doing wonderful work. My quesion is simply, why are we assigning these TRN’s to a photo or cue site? I don’t assume we are doing this for others, so how does this work because if we assign it, then naturally we ourselves would know what the target is and well, skew our results. So I’m confused. Thanks J

    why would you need a TRN when you are just a commen person, not military, and when you know what the question is, and what you want to “look for”.…please explain why and who to addres this.

    Michael,
    A beautiful Blog! I also went to the Monroe Institute for a week of Experiments and Remote viewing shared with us, this was several decades ago.…I love it all, I have many of the older Hemi-sync Cds and music and have used them with my ESE students in the past when studies with Monre Institute and effects on behaviour were going on.….I have Silva as well, and I may be older yet I I am still learning and enjoying the process. As usual you always send excellent and wonderful information.

    I’m Rv ing or R I ing my new BGF and it’s working so well that I keep on getting invited over to dinner. She’s only 29 years younger but not when I using the fourth dimention to make contact there’s no age difference involved. Have you ever thought of that Vishen? No time influence no age influence just a great mind melt.
    Never mind the energy lost while concentrating her cooking is all I need to keep me going. :-)

    The TRN system Ed Dames uses is BRILLIANT! I’ve been to one of his workshops and it proves that Remote Viewing really works because the whole class nailed the answet to a blind target! I know that viewers also predict Super Bowl winners and stuff too.

    Hi,
    I think I am kind of lost too with the target numbers. I can see if we were looking for a certain area or looking for a job or a person or something I can see that. But what makes these target numbers?
    Thank you again

    I was thinking of trying to make TRNs for my own targets (after I get more practice, of course), but was unsure how. This source is great! Thanks!

    Maybe I can help? The TRN is a randomly-generated set of numbers that whoever is running the session (could be yourself) assigns to the target. We get numbers instead of words as a target to keep our conscious mind from interfering with the data collection. Please correct me if I’m wrong.

    Thank you. I dowloaded the worksheets and got my TRNs. now, how do I find out if I am on target? How do I find out what the TRNs refer to?
    Thank you, LW

    If two different people get the same target reference numbers will they remote view the same target?
    For instance if i want to remote view the face on Mars do i have to have the SAME Target Reference Numbers already assigend to that spot? Same for other times / places in history.
    Thanks

    does this only work it you are trying to FIND someone? What if you want to ask a question, like what job should i pursue? or Career path? OR am I on the right track? How do I help myself become more successful creatively?

    I too have had spontaneous RV experiences as a young person and have been immensely interested in more formal work. The TRN’s are a necessary part of making this scientific. Thanks for having this site.

    Hi all
    I am a newbie to RV,but I would think that TRN simply mean your own ref. number,just like, as if you get an account and make a query, they ask for the Ref. number and then they know what account it is, your subconsioue Mind aparently need a Ref. number too, for each subject, but I don’t understand blind targets, I thought RV was a way to get an answer to a spesific question you have.
    Greatings from Australia.

    I get it. It works like radionics. By substituting numerologic values for letters and doing a Pythagorean reduction, we can tune into a person. The same must be true even when assigning a random value under the “TRN” system. I learned how to tune in a person from Stewart Swerdlow, but he never called it RV.

    I would guess you don’t need to generate a TRM if you’re an individual doing private RM for your own use.

    Speaking of the methodology for generating unique TRM’s, I’ve always wondered if major sweepstakes that send a van full of well-dressed people with balloons to give you astronomical figures like $10M that would bankrupt most corporations, use the TRM generator described in this article? In this case the program would track every entry and choose a random number outside the range of entry numbers? That way, they never have to pay out (except maybe once every decade). I dunno, just a side thought…

    Histoy of Projects

    Center Lane
    Center Lane was the codename for the operational unit of the remote-viewing program, redesignated from Grill Flame in late 1983.

    Control of the unit shifted from INSCOM’s operation group to the more direct control of Albert Stubblebine. The unit was known as INSCOM Center Lane Project (ICLP).
    (Schnabel, Jim, Remote Viewers: The Secret History of America’s Psychic Spies, Dell, 1997, pg 280)

    In late 1983, four more individuals were recruited to Center Lane: Captain Ed Dames, Captain Bill Ray (counterintelligence specialist), Captain Paul Smith, and Charlene Cavanaugh (civilian analyst with INSCOM). These four began a training program, which began at The Monroe Institute and concluded with personal training with Ingo Swann.
    (Schnabel, 1997, pg 292–3)

    After Gen. Stubblebine’s retirement in 1984, Center Lane was completely without support in the Army. Jack Vorona arranged for the unit to be transferred directly to the DIA’s Scientific and Technical Intelligence Directorate when Army funding ran out in late 1985, at which time it was redesignated Sun Streak. Until that time, the unit was given no official taskings.
    (Schnabel, 1997, pg 319)

    CENTER LANE started when Ingo Swann at SRI came across a breakthrough in his techniques in 1983. He developed a training program and trained six military officers, including Ed Dames, over a period of six months. After finishing the training in late 1983, the viewers returned and started applying their knowledge. The unit was renamed CENTER LANE, with Dames as the operations and training officer.

    Dames took a ‘let’s see what this baby can do’ approach, replacing the unit’s former intelligence collection methodology with the breakthrough technique.“
    (Dames, Ed“Ed Dames Sets the Record Straight”)

    Individuals associated with Center Lane include:

    * Lt. Col. Brian Busby: commander, 1983–1984 or 85
    * Lt. Skip Atwater: operations officer, 1978–87
    * Ed Dames: trainee, 1983–84, assistant operations officer, 1985–88
    * Joe McMoneagle: viewer, 1978–84
    * Bill Ray: viewer, 1983–84/85. Commander, 1984 or 1985
    * Paul Smith: viewer, 1983–1990
    * Charlene Cavanaugh: viewer, 1983-?
    * Lyn Buchanan: viewer, monitor, 1984–92

    Gondola Wish
    Around 1977, Lt. Skip Atwater of the Army’s Systems Exploitation Detachment (SED), which was under control of the office of the assistant chief of staff for intelligence (ACSI), suggested to the head of the SED, Col. Robert Keenan, that the Army develop a small, experimental group of psychics. The suggestion passed up the chain of command and was approved by the ACSI, Major General Edmund Thompson.

    The project, which was codenamed Gondola Wish, had a small budget, and began the planning stages around late 1977. Lt. Atwater was given some funds, some office space, and a commanding officer, Lt. Scotty Watt. After consulting with the researchers at SRI, Atwater and Watt began screening possible recruits. The new recruits were to serve only part-time, and remain officially attached to their current units.
    The original recruits included:

    * Ken Bell, Army counterintelligence
    * Fernand Gauvin, Army counterintelligence
    * Jackie Keith, civilian working with Army special ops
    * Joe McMoneagle, warrant officer
    * Mel Riley, photo-interpreter
    * Hartleigh Trent, photo interpreter, Navy petty officer
    * One unnamed Army captain,
    * four unnamed civilian photo-interpreters

    Soon after Gondola Wish was staffed, by early 1978, they had conducted only a few remote viewing sessions before the work was halted. The project was considered to be “human use experimentation”, and the process of approval, consent, and medical evaluations had to be completed. Several months passed, and the six most promising candidates (Riley, McMoneagle, Bell, Gauvin, Trent, and one of the civilians) were sent to SRI to be evaluated. Atwater and Watt were looking for the best three candidates, but all six seemed to fit the bill. Those that didn’t go through training soon faded from the project.
    (Schnabel, Jim, Remote Viewers: The Secret History of America’s Psychic Spies, Dell, 1997, pg 13–20)

    Gondola Wish had the support of Ed Thompson, who participated in an experiment himself, and to a lesser degree was supported by INSCOM (Army Intelligence and Security Command) commander William Rolya, as well as the Chief of Staff and the Secretry of the Army. Due to this interest, in 1978 Gondola Wish was moved into better quarters and redesignated Grill Flame. (Schnabel, 1997, pg 23–5)

    GRILL FLAME
    In late 1978, Gondola Wish was redesignated as the “Special Action Branch”, codenamed Grill Flame, which applied to the operational unit and the research at SRI. The unit was reorganized as an offensive spying unit, and moved into buildings 2560 and 2561 at Ft. Meade. The budget was increased, and there were three full time viewers: Ken Bell, Joe McMoneagle, and Mel Riley. The unit reported to Ed Thompson, but was tasked by approved members of the intelligence community.
    (Schnabel, Jim, Remote Viewers: The Secret History of America’s Psychic Spies, Dell, 1997, pg 24–5)

    The SRI research program was integrated into Grill Flame in early 1979. Controlled by the DIA, tasking came through the DIA’s on-site representative, Jim Salyer.
    (Scnabel, 1997, pg 220–1)

    After Ed Thompson left his post in 1981, Grill Flame came under the control of INSCOM, and was designated Detachment G within INSCOM’s Operations Group.
    (Schnabel, 1997, pg 280)

    According to Ed Dames, the original unit had six to eight commissioned military intelligence officers. “GRILL FLAME, (which was listed on the INSCOM books as “Detachment G”), had consisted of soldiers and a few civilians who possessed varying degrees of natural psychic ability. These operatives utilized altered states to achieve (varying degrees) of target contact.“
    (Dames, Ed, “Ed Dames Sets the Record Straight”)

    In 1983, Grill Flame was redesignated Center Lane.

    Individuals associated with Grill Flame:

    * Jack Vorona: overall manager
    * Lt. Col. Murray B. “Scott” Watt: commander, 1978–82
    * Lt. Col Jachim: commander, 1982–83
    * Lt. Col. Brian Busby: commander, 1983–
    * Lt. Skip Atwater: operations officer, 1978–87
    * Ken Bell: viewer, 1978–82

    STAR GATE
    Codename for the operational unit of the DIAs remote viewing program from approximately 1991 (redesignated from Sun Streak) until its termination in 1995. I have seen this codename been used casually by journalists to describe the entire remote-viewing program.

    I have heard that at this time, the unit was no longer housed at Ft. Meade, but I don’t know when they left or where they went.

    Star Gate began around 1991, and had only four viewers: Lyn Buchanan, Robin Dahlgren, Angela Dellafiora, and a DIA civilian. No attempts were made to recruit new personnel. The branch chief of Star Gate was Dale Graff. When Graff resigned in the summer of 1993, he was replaced by a DIA HUMINT (human intelligence) specialist.
    (Schnabel, Jim, Remote Viewers: The Secret History of America’s Psychic Spies, Dell, 1997, pg 380–1)

    In 1994, there was an attempt to move Star Gate to the CIA’s Office of Research and Development. The CIA was reluctant to take the unit, but agreed under the condition of an outside evaluation, which was carried out by AIR. (Schnabel, 1997, pg 386)

    AIR gave an unfavorable report of the program, and the CIA set about shutting it down in 1995. Since then, there have been rumors that the project went deep black, or that the intelligence community still funds some low-level psi research.

    According to viewer Paul Smith, during Star Gate, the unit changed from a “SAP (‘Special Access Program’) to a LIMDIS (‘limited dissemination’) program”.

    SUN STREAK
    After Army support and funding of the Ft. Meade operational remote viewing unit ran out in late 1985, Jack Vorona transferred control directly to the DIA’s Scientific and Technical Intelligence Directorate. The unit was known as DT-S (DT for Scientific and Technical Intelligence Directorate, S for Special) and was given the codename Sun Streak.

    Under branch chief Fern Gauvin’s command, the unit reportedly began to shift towards more occultic methods, including channelling and tarot cards.
    (Schnabel, Jim, Remote Viewers: The Secret History of America’s Psychic Spies, Dell, 1997)

    In 1986, the Army passed the highly controversial unit to DIA. SUN STREAK (ferreted away in DIA’s Scientific and Technical Intelligence Directorate as DT-S), was a bastard element. This is because DIA is an analytical agency–it has no charter to collect intelligence!” Ed Dames claims to have continued to collect and pass on information under the nose of the DIAs civilian administrator, Dale Graff.

    By 1989, Dale Graff had replaced all of the trained military professionals with psychics virtually taken “off the street,” thus rendering the project ineffective for intelligence collection purposes–but highly entertaining for certain civilian officials who came to visit DIA’s ‘witches’ to obtain personal psychic ‘readings.’”
    (Dames, Ed, “Ed Dames Sets the Record Straight”)

    In 1988, a Pentagon Inspector General team evaluated the Sun Streak operational unit. The viewers were ordered to avoid the team, and many documents were shredded behind the inspector’s backs (in the documentary “Psi-Files: The Real X-Files”, Ed Dames claimed that three shredders had their motors burnt out in the process).
    (Schnabel, 1997, pg 369)

    By 1991, the unit had only four viewers: Lyn Buchanan, Robin Dahlgren, Angela Dellafiora, and a DIA civilian. Around this time, the unit was redesignated Star Gate. Also around this time period, the unit left Ft. Meade. I don’t know the date of the move, or where it was moved to.
    (Schnabel, 1997, pg 380)

    Individuals associated with Sun Streak include:

    * Bill Ray: branch chief, 1985–1988
    * Bill Xenakis: branch chief, 1987–8
    * Skip Atwater: operations officer, 1978–87
    * Ed Dames: assistant operations officer
    * Fern Gauvin: assistant operations officer, 1985?-1987. Operations officer, 1987. Branch chief, 1988–1991?
    * Gene Kincaid: assistant operations officer
    * Lyn Buchanan: viewer, monitor, 1984–92
    * Angela Dellafiora: viewer, channeller: 1986–95?
    * David Morehouse: viewer, 1988–1990
    * Mel Riley: viewer, 1986–90
    * Paul Smith: viewer, 1983–90
    * Robin Dahlgren: viewer, channeller, 1988–95?

    Thanks MJ/VK for intro to this facinating experience which I am eager to start asap.
    Are TRNs used to RV a particular geographical location in our universe? If so, can I confirm results a day or so later using the same TRN.
    Am I off the mark in my understanding so far?

    MR senior joe dude,
    I have gone through experiments with NAVY, DR RHines card tricks, gypsies, wicca, church, and the like, my mother was epileptic, I started from a young age understanding there is more than meets the eye. I have had two close calls with death, one involving a defibulator, one from a rip current in the ocean. I have proven time and time again something wants me to live despite a death wish from time to time. I know I have ESP and have proved it to many people, am frankly I am tired of skeptics. I am willing to pay you what ever u see fit for your life experience and training though I don’t just want to use this skill to score chicks or get a free lunch I have wanted to serve the greater good for the past ten years. If you or alex gray know any way to show me what I can do to help, what ever, I am all ears. I do believe, I sincerely want to help, I would love to acquire new skills, though whats it good for… and why… and how must one hypnotise self to not know so that their isn’t even the thought of letting this info leak into malice devious minds… I am all ears senior… jacob micheal BRUNO 805 423 5515

    It seems to me that in games of chance I sometimes am able to predict the future. As self centered as it might seem, I would like to learn how to do it everytime I decide to play games off chance. Is it possible to RV the future a mere 10 seconds or so into the future on a consistant basis ? I believe it is. What are your thoughts regarding games of chance in real time as it relates RV?
    Thanks
    Ted

    I read about the pick three number choosing using RV. I live in Italy and we have SuperEnalotto, Nos 1–90 and to win a jackpot one has to have all the 6 numbers in one line and this is the world’s hardest to hit I have read. Is RV going to help this situation? Pick three will be an easier one. I get tons of mails and I find one introducing another and this same one introducing the first one who introduced this one in the first place without even realizing the reality. In doing this every one tries to support the other and make tons of money. I do not want to be carried away like this. Sorry to say I did spend some hard earned money in this process. It is the bitterness of loosing money and being gullible this way by believing all the smart talks of people who have been blessed with this ability.If you have something worth the while I would like to get to know

    hello…
    i bought all dvd’s except “finacial remote veiwing“and another do not recall the title. Alos, the financial remote forcasting one is not the title,but you get the idea of which one I did not buy.
    I have the 4 dvd’s, picking the lottrey one,dowsing one, Ed Dames…grim predictions. I watched grim predictions.…oh well!!!
    watched the lottery one…did not try it,yet!
    watched the dowsing one(Paul.H.Smith)…will watch again!!
    The 4 dvd’s (Ed Dames) course…I have not watched or attempted to start…Why I do not know.
    None the less, I will soon. I just want to be sure I am doing what I am suppose to do. I have to print the forms first.
    I wanted to order the “ufo dvd”, but you no longer offer that one, why is that?
    I would like to buy that one.

    Anyway, I hope soon, to let you all know how,what, I experienced…when I follow to the “T” all protocols in my first “RV” attempt.

    I purchased the Ed Dames and I need help in understanding how to use the DVD.
    I started disc # 1 and I misunderstood how to get started and now I don’t want to progress to the other discs until I get the first one.
    How do I start over since I already have seen the targets.
    I have the Learn Remote Viewing taught by Ed Dames
